Art Rock Show – Till Horisonten (Week 48)

De Zweedse prog band Trettioåriga Kriget heeft een rijke geschiedenis achter zich. Het debuutalbum dateert uit 1974… Mede door andere Zweedse groepen als Anekdoten en Änglagard komt de oude cultband weer in de belangstelling.

Luke Peerdeman van Prog Wereld: “Trettioåriga Kriget kwam in 2016 op de radar van collega Maarten Goossensen met ‘Seaside Air’. De band bood daar frisse fruitige symfo met aanstekelijke melodieën en opgewekte instrumentale passages. Hoewel de klanken bijwijlen melancholieker zijn, is dit op ‘Till Horisonten’ niet anders. Deze band biedt ook hier ongedwongen muziek met verzorgde arrangementen. De stijl doet me nog het meest denken aan Wishbone Ash, al neemt de mellotron hier een prominentere plaats in. Wellicht dringt die associatie zich hier op, omdat deze band van oudsher hardrock verwerkte in hun geluid.… Read more...
