Art Rock Show – The 5th Season (Week 45)

Steve Unruh is voornamelijk bekend als een prog-folk multi-instrumentalist met verschillende soloalbums en natuurlijk The Samurai Of Prog. Om meer elektrisch te gaan spelen richtte hij in 2005 met Rob Winslow de band Resistor op. Veel van de muziek is instrumentaal.

Jos Driessen van Prog Wereld: “Dit zesde album, vreemd genoeg getiteld ‘The 5th Season’, heeft mij vanaf de eerste draaibeurt in de speler direct met stomheid geslagen. Wat heb ik en u gemist? Is er toch een groep die Steven Wilson daadwerkelijk naar de kroon kan steken? Wat in eerste instantie een ratjetoe aan crossover prog lijkt te zijn is eigenlijk een prima gedoseerde dosis zware Amerikaanse prog-folk gestoken in een ruig maar melodieus prog jasje.
