Jethro Tull kennen we als een Britse progressieve rockband uit Luton, een stad boven Londen gelegen. De band werd opgericht in 1967 rond de Schotse voorman Ian Anderson. Hun muziek is herkenbaar aan de opmerkelijke zangstijl en het unieke dwarsfluitwerk van Anderson, aan de ongewone en vaak complexe liedconstructies en aan de intelligente teksten.

Art Rock Show – Yay! (Week 41)

Na een reeks epische, uitgestrekte en koptelefoonvriendelijke albums is Motorpsycho terug met een vrij kort en wat popgerelateerd en album. Een plaat met voornamelijk akoestische nummers: dat teruggrijpt naar de invloed van de jaren ’60 en ’70 op de muziek.

Amped-Up review: “Motorpsycho ging altijd over de balans tussen hard en zacht, elektrisch en akoestisch, groot en klein, licht en schaduw … en nu was de tijd rijp voor een lichtere toets om de weegschaal in evenwicht te brengen. Yang naar de Yin van vroeger, meer epische werken (N.O.X., The Crucible en Chariot Of The Gods), is dit ook een album dat eigenlijk heel goed werkt bij een kopje thee op de middag.
