The Chronicles of Father Robin ontstond uit de overblijfselen van de band Fangorn in 1993-94. Het is meer dan 30 jaar in en uit productie geweest. De muziek is ontstaan uit een diepe waardering van de bandleden voor de prachtige en creatieve progressieve rock uit de jaren 1970.

Art Rock Show – Sanctuary (Week 46)

IO Earth is een baanbrekende Britse Symfonische rockband die er trots op is dat ze genres naadloos met elkaar kan vermengen en zo haar eigen kenmerkende geluid creëert.

Fred Nieuwesteeg van Prog Wereld: “Outside is meteen al op en top IO Earth. Na een subtiel begin met een onheilspellende sfeer, bouwt het nummer op naar het volle orkest dat de band ook kan zijn. Zware riffs en uithalen van Odinsen, maar ook Cureton die er fraai tussendoor tokkelt, de viool voegt wat romantiek toe, even is de sfeer oosters. Een furieuze gitaarsolo luidt het slot in, een enkel pianoakkoord.
Gough treedt niet op de voorgrond, maar zijn toetsenspel en orkestraties zijn essentieel voor het bandgeluid. Met bijzondere geluiden creëert hij steeds een andere sfeer.… Read more...

Psychedelic, heavy, prog and more innovating sounds spanning the late 60s and the early 70s –  Wednesday August 15th.  Dan’s pick of the week: Moondog (Moondog), The Residents (Meet The Residents), Frank Zappa (Hot Rats), John Cale (Paris 1919), The Velvet Underground (The Velvet Underground & Nico) & Henry Cow (In Praise of Learning).

Moondog was de artiestennaam van Louis T. Hardin, een Amerikaans componist, musicus en dichter. Behalve nieuwe muziek vond hij ook nieuwe instrumenten uit, hoewel hij blind was.

Art Rock Show – The Fox and the Bird (Week 45)

Ok Goodnight is een progressieve rock en metal band, die muzikale invloeden als Dream Theater en The Mars Volta combineert. Ze werden gevormd door studenten aan het Berklee College of Music in Boston. Dit is het tweede album van de Amerikaanse band.
