Kyrie Eleison was een Oostenrijkse symfonische rockband, opgericht in 1974 door Gerald Krampl (toetsen) samen met twee schoolvrienden, Karl Novotny (drums) en Felix Rausch (gitaar). De muziek is symfonische, progressieve rock op zijn best. Ze vermengden het symfonische meesterschap van Genesis met de thematische aspecten van Van der Graaf Generator.

Art Rock Show – Paint the Sky (Week 11)

Deze week stellen we de veelzijdige Franse muzikant Vivien Lalu aan u voor. De man maakt al meer dan 20 jaar muziek, en is te horen op meer dan 20 albums van verschillende platenlabels. Lalu is vooral bekend voor zijn progressieve rock & metal werk, maar hij houdt zich ook bezig met andere projecten en genres (gamestracks en soundtracks).

Eric van den Bosch van Rockportaal.nl: “Wat hij maakt is een soort poppy progrock, ergens tussen Yes, Saga en de Hold Your Fire-jaren van Rush, logischerwijs met een prominente rol voor de keyboards. Gelukkig betekent dat niet dat er een kwak vette synths overal overheen gaat, je merkt dat Lalu breder denkt. En de muzikanten die hij heeft uitgenodigd kunnen ook wat: Damian Wilson (Ayreon, Threshold, Headspace) is de zanger van dienst en de andere twee vaste muzikanten zijn drummer Jelly Cardarelli (Adagio, Disconnected) en de gitarist/bassist die hem al sinds het eerste album bijstaat, Joop Wolters.… Read more...
