Art Rock Show – Magnified as Giants (Week 14)

We vallen in herhaling: ook deze week een rockband uit Noorwegen… Feit is dat er veel goede progmuziek uit dit prachtige land komt…

Deze keer is het de beurt aan Ole Michael Bjørndal, Hij is de gitarist van de Noorse band OAK en hij speelde ook mee in de live band van Airbag en Bjorn Riis. Onder de naam ‘Caligonaut’ brengt hij zijn eerste soloalbum uit. Hij volgde bij Robert Fripp een cursus in zijn nieuwe manier van het stemmen van de gitaar en past deze ook toe op dit album. Verder wilde hij een album maken in de geest van King Crimson, Genesis, Pink Floyd en Rush met het moderne van Tool en Opeth. Nu noteert iedere symfo act dit wel in zijn begeleidend schrijven, maar bij dit album is mijn interesse meteen gewekt.… Read more...

Fragile is het vierde album van de Britse symfonische rockband Yes. Dit is het eerste album waarop toetsenist Rick Wakeman meespeelt, die Tony Kaye verving na The Yes Album.

Classic Rock Review: “The album was recorded in September 1971 and co-produced by Eddy Offord, who worked on most of the band’s earliest material.
