Art Rock Show – Panther (Week 41)

Eigenzinnigheid is het handelsmerk van de Zweedse progressieve rockband Pain of Salvation. Marcel Hartenberg van Written in Music: “Geen twee albums die zomaar op elkaar lijken, geen formule-aanpak van hun muziek, maar altijd de uitdaging in hun muziek leggend, dat is Pain of Salvation ten voeten uit.

In The Passing Light Of Day, het vorige album van de Zweden was een absoluut hoogtepunt in het oeuvre van de band. Afwisseling alom, diepe intense tracks en een geweldig samenspel tussen de stemmen van Daniel en de inmiddels vertrokken gitarist Ragnar Zolberg. Het prachtige Meaningless op dat album was een bewerking van een nummer van Sign, de voormalige band van Ragnar. De thematiek: de ervaringen van Daniel in het ziekenhuis, in een situatie die hem de dood in de ogen deed zien.… Read more...
