Art Rock Show – A Day at the Beach (Week 37)

Na vier jaar is de Noorse band Airbag terug met een nieuw album. De plaat met als titel A Day At The Beach, brengt zowel vernieuwing in de bezetting, maar ook in de muzikale weg ten gehoor.

Eric De Boer van Hifi.be: “Airbag is op A Day At The Beach niet meer een kwintet, maar een trio geworden. Na hun vorige album Disconnected uit 2016 ‘verloor’ de band twee leden die er sinds de oprichting al bij waren. Over bleven zanger Asle Tostrup, drummer Henrik Fossum en (hoe kan het ook anders) gitarist Bjørn Riis. Airbag moest opnieuw uitvinden hoe ze componeren en musiceren zouden, maar zag de wijziging in de personele bezetting ook als uitdaging om nieuwe inspiraties op te zoeken.

Die inspiratie werd volgens Airbag gevonden in een opleving van jaren tachtig elektronica, new wave en soundtracks.… Read more...
