Art Rock Show – Sense Of Gravity (Week 25)

Twee jaar geleden wist de Nederlandse band An Evening With Knives vriend en vijand te verrassen met hun debuutalbum Serrated. Een plaat met trage, harde en tegelijk melodieuze muziek. Bert Gysemans van daMusic: “In de nasleep van dit album volgde nog een ep. Het nieuwe album ‘Sense Of Gravity’ klinkt vrolijker en de (post)metallijn wordt meer dan ooit doorgetrokken.

Vanaf opener Sacrifice is het duidelijk dat het menens is: alles klinkt net iets vinniger en heftiger. Met name de zang – sowieso een beetje vreemd bij een zogenaamde post-band –  klinkt heel intens en dwingend. De moddervette productie is van de hand van producer Pieter Kloos (Devil’s Blood, Dool). En het vele live spelen (zoals vorig jaar op Alcatraz) heeft de band zeker geen windeieren gelegd..… Read more...
