Art Rock Show – Let The Truth Speak (Week 04)

Het is bijna tien jaar geleden dat het Amerikaanse orkestrale/progressieve metalkwartet Earthside genrefans wegblies met hun debuut-LP, A Dream in Static. Dat debuut was een opmerkelijke breedbeeldaangelegenheid, maar de nieuwe plaat is waanzinnig ambitieus, allesomvattend en soms overweldigend weelderig en filmisch.

Jos Driessen van Prog Wereld: “De vele symfonische elementen zoals in “A Dream in Static” zijn er wel op “Let the Truth Speak” maar voelen beperkter aan. Het zijn uiteindelijk drie instrumentale nummers geworden waar het album prachtig mee opent en groots eindigt. Heel tactisch is in het middenstuk het ruim twaalf minuten durende Watching The Earth Sink geplaatst. Dit start als een rustig introspectief werk maar vervolgt uiteindelijk zijn weg in een briljante, duistere ambient sfeer en dat met zware gitaren. Zeldzaam mooi dit.… Read more...
