Art Rock Show – Airbag – The Century of the Self (Week 44)

De band Airbag werd in 1994 opgericht in Oslo en speelt sinds 1999 in de huidige samenstelling. Naast Airbag speelden de muzikanten in een Pink Floyd coverband.

Musika.be review: “Hoera, een nieuw album, het zesde al, van de Noorse progmeesters Airbag en dit vier jaar na het sublieme ‘A Day At The Beach’. De band is opgericht in 2004 door schoolmakkers Asle Torstrup (zang) en Bjorn Riis (gitaar) en hun sound was voornamelijk geïnspireerd door bands als Pink Floyd en Porcupine Tree. Maar al snel ontwikkelde de band een eigen, fenomenale eigen sound. Dit is ware “luister” prog: mooie, zweverige, gevoelige gitaarpartijen en wonderbaarlijk mooie zang.

Het was afwachten of ‘The Century Of The Self’ het niveau van hun vorig album zou evenaren en dit is zeer duidelijk het geval.… Read more...
