Art Rock Show – Pages From the Sea (Week 37)

Stefano Panunzi is afkomstig uit Italië en bracht in 2005 zijn eerste plaat Timelines uit. Hij is tevens bekend als groepslid van Fjieri. Zijn muziek kan het best worden omschreven als een mix van ambient, jazz, prog en wereldmuziek met mooie soundscapes.

Jos Driessen van Prog Wereld: “Op zijn nieuwe album “Pages from the Sea” tapt hij andermaal uit hetzelfde muzikale vaatje en laat hij zich opnieuw omringen met vakkundige topmusici, waardoor de kwaliteit gegarandeerd is. Onder hen bevindt zich een waslijst aan bekende namen, waarvan uit de progscene de King Crimson-leden Jakko M. Jakszyk en Pat Mastelotto wel de bekendste zijn. De constante factor is de fretloze bas. Met gedempte tonen verankert de basgitaar zijn eigen melodielijnen als grondlagen stevig in de nummers. Hierdoor voelt het gehele album meer aan als jazz dan als rock.… Read more...
